Junior Honor Roll RESULTS: BOYS --- GIRLS

The 2012 Greater Lansing High School Junior Honor Roll Track and Field Meet is being hosted at the Okemos Track and Field on Thursday, May 31! The meet is the premier individual championship for Greater Lansing Middle School Track and Field Athletes. Coaches : Please check your athletes names and performances to ensure they are correct. All corrections should be sent to Jeff as soon as possible. Final Deadline is Thursday, May 24 at 11:59pm for performance submissions.

NEW! Greater Lansing Junior CCC meet ad for State Journal

Bath edged East Lansing MacDonald and St. Johns 99-105-107 to take the girls team title on Monday at DeWitt High School.

The 6-point victory narrowly kept MacDonald from sweeping all four Greater Lansing Junior Cross Country Championships team and individual titles for seventh and eighth graders.

Zoe Morse captured the girls individual title with a 2-mile time of 11 minutes, 41 seconds or 16 seconds faster than her time from a year ago when she finished runner-up to two-time champion Meg Darmofal of Mason.

Darmofal and Karrigan Smith of St. Johns, a close third to Morse in 2010, finished 1-2 in the Greater Lansing Cross Country Championships for high school runners two days before Morse's win. So it looks like Morse is destined to challenge for a top spot in the 2012 high school meet when she becomes a ninth grader.

In the boys race, Jacob Stanton (first in 11:40), Zach Lane (third in 11:42), Joe Draheim (fifth in 11:51) and Nathan Meyer (seventh in 11:52) helped MacDonald compile just 39 points to Okemos Chppewa's 85 while capturing the boys team title.
