comments: Children's fun run races, for a fee of $15 by 5/15 or $20 from 5/17 to race day, will begin at 8:45 a.m. Children will be grouped by age (0-14) for appropriate distances of 50 meters to 1,000 meters on the parade route. Medals awarded to all children's fun run participants. Course for 8-mile and 5K is fast and flat! Race precedes the Highland Festival parade. Your start and finish will be cheered on by 30,000+ spectators. Trophies will be awarded to the top male and female in the open 5K Run, 5K walk, and 8 mile race. Trophies awarded to the top male and female masters runners in the 5K and 8 mile race and also the top male and female masters walkers in the 5K walk. Medals are awarded to the top two finishers in each age group for each event. Participants in the 5K run, 5K walk, and 8 mile will receive a dri-fit shirt, while participants in the children's fun run will receive a regular race t-shirt. Participants will also receive a commemorative glass, goodies bag, and ticket into the festival gates.
