Playmakers is pleased to announce the 11th annual Greater Lansing Race Series and the sponsorship of the United Dairy Industry of Michigan and Great Harvest Bread of Okemos. Playmakers, along with our partners, aim to work

with the select local races to host great events that provide runners with excellent opportunities to excel.

How does it work? Register for any of the races in the Greater Lansing Race Series and you will automatically be entered to score points for the overall series and your specific gender

and age division. Throughout the season and

at the conclusion of the 2012 race series, Playmakers will tabulate and post the cumulative results. Race Series

Do you still need some reasons to participate? If you complete 6 out of 13 races, you will be awarded a 2012 race series long

sleeve Tech T-Shirt. If you complete 10 out of 13 races you

will be awarded a Great Harvest Bread Card for a loaf of bread each month for a year! Finally there will be awards presented for overall and age group divisions at our annual Race Series Banquet on Sunday, October 14, at Playmakers. Please fill out the attached form or online form and return to Playmakers by Sunday, September 23, to be eligable for the Bread Card and Playmakers Race Series shirt.

Overall, masters and grandmasters awards, as well as five awards each in age group from 14-and-under and 15-19 all the way up to 75-79 and 80-and-over for both men and women were presented beginning at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the Pizza House restaurant in the Hannah Plaza off Hagadorn Road.

Participation awards were also presented. Any runner of walker who completed six of the 12 events earned a race series shirt, and those who finished nine received a card good for a free loaf of Great Harvest bread each month in 2012.

More than 200 runners gathered on Oct. 10 for the annual Playmakers Greater Lansing Race Series awards celebration on Sunday night at Playmakers.

Beverages, 40 pizzas and more food were provided.

Among those honored were male and female overall winners Christopher Stoddard of Bath and Christine Vincent of Jackson, masters (over age 40) winners Eric Stuber of Lansing and Martha Olsen of Jackson, and grandmasters (over age 50) winners Dale Hool of Jackson and Sharon Dolan of Westphalia. Awards were also presented to the top five in each age division, shirts to those who had completed at least six of the 13 race series events in 2010 and filled out a form, and Great Harvest Bread cards to those who had completed at least 10 of the 13 race series events in 2010 and filled out a form. The bread card allows the recipient to claim a free loaf of bread from Great Harvest Bread Company each month throughout 2011.
